Looting…

As of late I have been finding joy in plants. Along with my garden, house plants have brightened my life. I have read online about propagating succulents from leaves that people have collected for big box stores.

John and the Tilda Beast napped in the car (We were heading home from a kids birthday party. One that included being shot in the eye with a water toy by a very rambunctious little boy.) Maya and I ventured forth on our quest. Like most five year olds, she loves to fill her pockets with treasure she finds during her day. I asked the employee’s of Home Depot if I could take anything on the ground or the trays. With the approval of small cluster of employees (Not sure what you call a flock of orange apron clad employees.) we started a treasure hunt.

Soon our pockets swelled with discarded leaves, dead flowers, and small parts of plants that have been broken off. I have no idea what I am really doing. Even if none of these leaves propagate I had a blast looting with my daughter. We’re also give these cast offs a second chance.

**While writing this I learned that the aloe does not propagate this way.**
